Beauty and the Beast, Fractured Fairy Tail #6

Once upon a time, there lived a girl named Belle who was 

reckoned to be the most beautiful in the country.


Despite her fair appearance, the townspeople found her very odd 

because ALL she ever did is read !


She read to escape her mundane existence, travelling in her mind to 

far off places, interacting with exciting characters


Meanwhile, in the nearby forest, lived a handsome yet selfish young prince.


A weathered old woman came to his gate one morning, 

asking to trade a beautiful rose for a nights' stay at his castle.



The prince recoiled in distaste, shuddering at the thought 

of letting this woman stay inside his castle.

He cruelly ordered her off his property


banishing her into the cold.

What the prince did not realize was that this 

old woman was actually a powerful witch!

 

The witch cast a major enchantment on the prince


saying that he will appear as beastly as his inner spirit


only to regain his former body if he 'learns to love 

someone, and has that love returned'.


The Beast believes this is impossible, for who would love such a hideous creature.


One day, the beautiful girl Belle went wandering through 

the countryside, lost in the book she is reading.


not paying any attention to where she was going.


Belle is dismayed when she notices she's wandered 

far into a dark and frightening forest.


She hurriedly tries to find her way back home, but only manages 

to blunder deeper into the sinister woods.


She spies a mysterious castle in the distance, and decides to make her way there.

 

Belle warily approaches the dark and foreboding castle, 

fearfully knocking on the huge iron door

When the doors swing open, Belle stares in amazement.

WHO opened the doors?

She wanders into a sitting room, and notices a table set for tea.

 

Belle is cold and thirsty, and decides to help herself to a cup.

 
All of a sudden, the items on the table burst out SINGING! This is all 

too much for Belle, who screams for silence!


Shocked and overwhelmed, she runs into another room, sits 

down in a chair and softly starts to cry


Whatever have I got myself into?


She notices the lovely fragrance of a rose


and goes near to smell it up close.  All of a sudden, a beast bursts into the room


snapping at her to drop the rose!


The Beast tells her to keep away from the rose, shaking his head in dismay


Despite his ferocious appearance


Belle reluctantly discovers that the Beast is actually not such a bad sort


and they start to form a friendship.

Belle and the Beast start to get quite chummy, 

spending more and more time together.

That is, of course, until Belle's ex-boyfriend showed up at the castle one day

Despite his puny 6.2 lb exterior and his pathetic, sniveling look, Gaston, her ex, 

was actually heavily into Ultimate Fighting


Gaston launches himself at the Beast, who is mortally wounded


and lays dieing on the floor


Belle rushes over to him in great distress


realizing how she's come to love this disgusting creature!

She cradles the Beast's head in her lap


and bends over and softly kisses his lips as the Beast exhales his last breath ever


Magically, the curse is lifted because the Beast has found love and has been loved in return


The Beast transforms back into the Prince he once was


Belle is horrified!


Who is this silly dandy of a man



and where did that hunky Beast go?


Belle decides that there's no reason to stick around any longer


and walks out the door


leaving the Prince in dazed bewilderment...



was it better to be a Beast with a beautiful, young babe
or chick-free and alone in his manly perfection?
